Can I set an exact word count or character limit?
Yes. You can specify a target length in the context or preset — for example 'shorten to 2 sentences', 'expand to 300 words', or 'keep it under 100 characters'. The AI uses this as a target and will get as close as possible while keeping the text natural and coherent.
Will shortening change my message or lose key points?
ToneMate is designed to preserve meaning. When shortening, the AI identifies the core idea and key supporting points, then removes filler, redundancy, and secondary details. If you notice something important was cut, you can add it to your context or preset instructions to always keep it.
What's the difference between Shorten and Summarize?
