ToneMate is in free beta and anyone can download it. To use the app you need a license key. During the beta it is free: request yours below.

How to get started

  1. 1Download the app, open the file and drag ToneMate to your Applications folder.
  2. 2Request your free beta license below. We email you the key.
  3. 3Open ToneMate and enter the key when it asks you to activate.

One key per email address. The license works on one Mac at a time.

We only use your email to send you the key. No marketing emails. Privacy policy.

What you get

About the beta

  • It is an early version: it can have errors and change without notice.
  • The app interface is in English for now.
  • Tell us what breaks or what is missing: support@tonemateai.com.

Before you download

  • macOS 14 or later.
  • For local AI, Ollama or MLX running on your Mac. ToneMate can test a model on your Mac before you rely on it.
  • For cloud AI, your own API key from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral or xAI. Your provider bills your API usage.
  • An internet connection to activate your license, and to renew it at least every 7 days.

What happens after the beta

Beta licenses are free and have no fixed end date: they keep working while ToneMate is in beta. When the first stable version comes out, we will email you the date and beta licenses will stop working 30 days later: those 30 days are your free trial, one per email and per Mac. The plan for the full version is a one-time purchase with no subscription.
